QUICK UPDATE BEFORE SEATTLE STOP #3

Many things happened this week, including the completion, delivery and installation of the chief engineer’s VBA logbook program. We have been working out a few unforeseen-condition bugs in it in the past couple of days and changing some stuff around so that everything works as he prefers, and it looks like we’re finally done. The problem is, now that everyone’s figured out we can use VBA, everyone has programs that need updating. We fixed the captain’s slop chest inventory program (not much work, turned out someone had just copied the wrong date to the wrong place) and I believe the chief mate has something for us as well.
Electrician Bruce got the other molasses pump fixed, so we finished emptying those tanks yesterday. The spider’s still OK.
And we’ve started scrambling around working on our seaterm project as we are about to begin our final trip. The chief engineer is leaving us in Oakland in a few days, so we’re trying to think of the 27,000 questions we have for him before then.
We went on a few field trips today to find and takes pictures of the emergency diesel generator, some reefers (we couldn’t find any that were plugged in and later realized that it’s because we’re coming back from Hawaii- there are only 3.), the battery locker, and lighting transformers. We have also confirmed the location of the forward super-secret locker. It was tricky because it’s so secret that it’s not labeled.
We are supposed to arrive in Seattle around 0500 or 0600 tomorrow so we should have a full day in port. I heard there might be snow! That would be a little too exciting.
